In partnership with FHI 360 Nepal, the organization, for the first time in Bhaktapur, CAC- Nepal implemented Behavioral Change Intervention (BCI) and Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) program among female sex workers (FSWs) from 2002 to 2006. The project title given as “Implementing AIDS prevention and care (IMPACT) project”
The main goal of the proposed program in to reduce the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and STI among the Female Sex Workers (FSWs) of Bhaktapur Districts.
It’s main strategies are:
- Behavior changes and communication (BCC)
- Peer Based Outreach through mobilization of Peer Educators (PEs)
- Outreach Education throughout reach worker (ORWs)
- Operation of Drop-in-Center (DIC)
- Creation of Enabling Environment
- Capacity Building
