Global Fund Single Stream of Funding (SSF) RD 10, HIV & AIDS Programme: Save the Children in collaboration with Government of Nepal has been awarded Community Action Centre-Nepal (CAC-Nepal) to implement a project “Comprehensive package for Female Sex Worker” in Kavrepalanchowk District. Comprehensive package on HIV and AIDS for Female Sex Worker in Kavrepalanchowk District has been running from May 1, 2012 – March 15, 2015.
The main interventions of the project are:
- Promotion of positive behaviors through Outreach Educators (OEs) and Peer Educators (PEs), among FSWs. OEs, and PEs work through one to one and group communication approach on HIV and STI to FSWs for safer sexual behavior.
- Operationalisation of one Drop in Center (DIC) in Kavrepalanchowk district
- Co-ordination of stakeholders through regular meetings of law enforcement authorities, health service providers and other community stakeholders
- Involvement of community people and civil society in HIV prevention, case management and minimize HIV related stigma and discrimination.
