Human Rights Advocacy

CAC-Nepal is dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights, with a particular focus on the rights and well-being of women, girls, and children. Through strategic advocacy and grassroots engagement, the organization works in close collaboration with local and regional networks to influence and strengthen legal and social systems that safeguard individuals from abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.
A key focus of this program is the empowerment of marginalized and vulnerable communities to understand, claim, and exercise their rights. This is achieved through targeted awareness campaigns, provision of legal assistance, and active community mobilization efforts that encourage civic participation and accountability.
In addition to its broader human rights initiatives, CAC-Nepal has been at the forefront of the movement advocating for equal citizenship and property rights. Since its establishment, the organization has been actively campaigning for the legal recognition of citizenship in the name of the mother, challenging patriarchal structures and advocating for gender-equitable legal reforms.

Human trafficking remains a critical human rights challenge in Nepal, disproportionately affecting impoverished women and children who are often lured or forced into exploitative situations. In response, CAC-Nepal has developed a comprehensive program focused on preventing trafficking, protecting victims, and promoting systemic change. Through the different program, CAC-Nepal mobilizes and coordinates efforts at the local, regional, and national levels to address both the root causes and the consequences of trafficking.

Moreover, CAC-Nepal invests in building the capacity of women and girls by providing advocacy development training. These trainings equip participants with the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to advocate for their own rights and to become influential voices for justice and equality within their communities. By fostering local leadership and enhancing advocacy capabilities, CAC-Nepal contributes to the creation of a more just and inclusive society.
