Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response Program
Since its establishment, CAC Nepal has been deeply committed to promoting Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across all of its initiatives. Recognizing the disproportionate impact of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) on marginalized groups, the organization has implemented a comprehensive GBV Prevention and Response Program aimed at both mitigating the risks of violence and supporting survivors through coordinated, survivor-centered interventions.
As part of this initiative, CAC Nepal has conducted a variety of activities focused on the prevention and mitigation of GBV. These include community awareness campaigns, capacity-building sessions, and advocacy efforts to strengthen local response mechanisms. A key component of this work involves facilitating access to referral services for GBV survivors, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate medical, legal, and psychosocial support.
A landmark effort under this program is the establishment of the Crisis Response Centre (CRC), specifically designed to support FSWs who have experienced GBV. The CRC is one of the first centers of its kind in Nepal to offer a comprehensive package of services under one roof. Facilities available in CRC are Basic medical services for immediate health concerns, Legal support to pursue justice and protection, Psychosocial counseling to address trauma and emotional recovery, and Short-term shelter and daycare support; making it a safe space for rest, recovery, and reintegration.
Through the GBV Prevention and Response Program, CAC Nepal continues to advocate for systemic change while delivering life-saving services to those in need. The organization remains dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities and fostering an inclusive society where all individuals can live free from violence and discrimination.
