Trafficking / ILO-IPEC - Community Action Centre-Nepal (CAC)

The International Labour Organisations (ILO) International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) is dedicated to the progressive elimination of child labour worldwide. IPEC works to achieve this through country based programmes, which aim to implement measures to end child labour through national advocacy and awareness raising aimed at changing social attitudes. CAC-Nepal took part in an ILO/IPEC Study on Internal Trafficking among Children and Youth engaged in Prostitution. in 2001 which revealed that there is a serious lack of understanding about internal trafficking of children and women in Nepal due to the hidden and dispersed nature of the phenomenon.
