Income Generation Programmes

CAC-Nepal has been running a candle making programme for Female Sex Workers in our Bhaktapur Drop-in-Centre (DIC) since 2005. This programme moved to the Kathmandu DIC in April 2007. Our candles are currently being sold informally to friends and colleagues.

In April 2007, we held an Exhibition of Children's Art highlighting HIV and AIDS issues. The proceeds from this exhibition went directly towards our new Bead Jewellery Making Programme. This new Income Generation Programme of Bead Jewellery Making was run in May 2007. As a result of this initial training, it is planned that subsequent trainings will be held so that as many women as possible can benefit.  Paintings, candles and beaded jewellery are still available for sale, click here to see photos.
