Income Generation Programmes

CAC-Nepal has been running a candle making programme for Female Sex Workers in the Bhaktapur Drop-in-Centre (DIC) since 2005. This programme moved to the Kathmandu DIC in April 2007. Our candles are currently being sold informally to friends and colleagues.

In April 2007, CAC-Nepal held an Exhibition of Children's Art highlighting HIV and AIDS issues. The proceeds from this exhibition went directly towards a bead jewellery making programme which was run in May 2007. As a result of this initial training, it is planned that subsequent trainings will be held so that as many women as possible can benefit.
