FWLD and CAC-Nepal
From March 2007 to April 2008, CAC-Nepal worked in partnership with Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD) on a Constituent Assembly Education Programme. The first phase ran from March to September 2007. This collaboration started with a 3 day workshop of Training of Trainers for 25 community facilitators on Civic and Voters Education. Following the training, CAC-Nepal facilitators held one day workshops on Awareness and Advocacy in Civic and Voters Education in 40 different areas in Bhaktapur. Special focus was given to women during these one-day workshops. Overall, 2,186 participants took part, of which 1,818 were women. In September 2007 (28th/29th) the same 25 Facilitators underwent a further 2 days refresher training on Voters Education, in preparation for the upcoming Constitutional Assembly elections.
For phase two of the partnership, which ran from February to April 2008, the workshops concentrated on Voters Education for the Constituent Assembly elections which took place on April 10th 2008.This phase started with a Training of Trainers one-day refresher workshop in February and from there, the facilitators' ran workshops on Voter's Education in 30 different sites of Bhaktapur district.
All together, 1,800 participants attended, (404 men and 1396 women).
